Cutest Pet Contest! Do you have the cutest pet? We are holding our first cutest pet contest. Entries will be displayed at Pet Lover II from now until March 20th the entry fee is $5.00 per pet and $1.00 per vote. All proceeds benefit the Coalition. The winner will be announced on March 21st at the Spaghetti Dinner. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. March 21st, 2010 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM American Legion 55 Roosevelt Avenue Somerset, MA 02726 The Coalition for Animals is holding a Compassion Fatigue Workshop with Anne Lindsay Sunday, April 18th from 1-5pm At the Buttonwood Park Zoo Education Center 425 Hawthorn St, New Bedford We’re VERY excited to be able to offer this extremely valuable workshop for people in animal welfare work! This is a wonderful opportunity to try and learn how to deal with the many frustrations we deal with on a regular basis. The overall idea of the workshop is to: 1) help people understand what they are feeling, 2) to be able to identify those unhealthy behaviors that keep them feeling frustrated, angry, etc., and 3) to create a plan for dealing with those behaviors/emotions. You will leave with a plan to help prevent compassion fatigue or a plan to work on your existing compassion fatigue symptoms. This four-hour period is meant for you to focus and take away as much as possible, so please do not plan to leave early or “work” by taking phone calls during the workshop.
