Christmas Bazaar 2008
On November 29, 2008, the coalition held its annual Christmas Bazaar at the Heritage State Park Visitors Center.
The Bazaar featured:
* Pet photos with santa
* Chinese auction
* Bake sale
* Silent auction
* 50/50 raffle
* Pet fashion show
All the proceeds from this event were used to help local animal shelters and other charitable works including:
* Donated funds to several local shelters in need
* Provided toys and treats to all of the pets housed in our local shelters
* Delped a stray cat in need of eye surgery to be helped by Sylvan Animal Clinic
* Helped an older cat get a new chance in life by being adopted into a new home along with all his shots from Pet Partners
* "George’s" life was saved with an emergency surgery at Sylvan thanks to your support
* "Lexi" is being boarded by Anchor Animal Hospital until a new caretaker can be found since his owner is unavailable to care for him due to a health condition
* Helped to spay four bunnies and find them new homes
* Three kittens were given a new chance in life thanks to your support
Bark in the Park, 2008
In summer 2008, the FRCAA hosted the "Bark in the Park".
During this event, people were able to experience:
* Free samples of pet food and pet products
* Free microchipping and low cost vaccinations administered by Sylvan Animal Clinic
* Face painting by Bambu Tattoo
* Pet and owner massages for charity donations
* Pets available for adoption from local shelters
* Free training seminars
Clean Up Kennedy Park
On the same day as the Bark in the Park, coalition members and other volunteers helped clean up Kennedy Park of animal waste in anticipation of the installation of the Doggie Bag Stations which have since been installed around the park
